Sketchpad is not installed on any computer. It is on the network. Here is how everyone accesses it. You may wish to forward this to students.
Direction A: Accessing Sketchpad.
1) Double click on My Computer. Students should have an S: Students on vmstudent
drive. If they don’t, follow directions under B Below.
2) If S drive is present, double click on S and then Double click on Sketch.
The sketch folder is at the bottom of the list alphabetically.
3) Inside Sketch is the application (GSketchp). They can make a shortcut on
their desktop if they wish to use it over and over. Follow directions C below.
Directions B: If student/teacher does not have an S Drive
1) Go to MY Network Places.
2) Double click on Entire Network.
3) Click Search for Computers. Type in vmstudent
4) Double click on right side of window on the vmstudent icon. The contents
of vmstudent open.
5) Right click on students (folder) and a menu appears. GO to Map network drive
and call it “s”,
6) Make sure reconnect on logon is checked. Then when they log on the next time,
students S Drive will always be there for them to use. Follow directions under
A above.
Directions C: How to make a shortcut for Geo Sketchpad to their profile.
1) Right click on the application icon in the SKETCH folder. A menu appears.
Go to the icon (Shortcut to GSKTECHP) and drag it to the desktop. It copies
the shortcut to their profile.
