Charity Art Show Nets More Than $3,300 for Mercy Hospice

Art students from Villa Maria and Malvern Prep raised more than $3,300 selling their Philadelphia-themed works of art, with all proceeds benefiting Mercy Hospice. The work was made specifically for the show, and all featured a Philadelphia theme. The artists offered their takes on Boathouse Row, the LOVE statue, City Hall, and Philadelphia sports teams, among other local themes. Villa Maria artists showed work in photography, painting, drawing, and mixed media. Malvern Prep students displayed pottery bowls, cups and vases.

The charity art show was held Thursday evening, and included refreshments in the lobby of the Marian Center. The work was on display and available for sale through Monday. Monetary donations were also welcome.
