Graduation Day 2014

Villa Maria Academy’s Class of 2014  graduated on Saturday, May 31 under blue skies at St. Basil the Great Church in Kimberton, PA. The ceremony began with a baccalaureate liturgy celebrated by Rev. Daniel F. Swift, VY, cousin of salutatorian Catherine Napoli. After Mass, Napoli gave the salutatory address, in which she thanked families and faculty for the support they provided the class through four years at Villa Maria.

Principal Sr. Regina Ryan awarded diplomas to all of the graduates. Katherine DeFonzo, valedictorian, then addressed the class, saying, “I am sure that the opportunities we have been given at Villa will allow us to go out into the world with courage and optimism, ready to meet the challenges and answer the questions that lay ahead.”

The graduates then sang their senior class song, “One-four,” with lyrics and music by Shannon Maguire and Catherine Napoli. The newly minted alumnae were then joined by other alumnae in the audience in singing the Alma Mater, before leaving the church to join their families for picture taking and celebrations.
