Seniors held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion and opening of the senior lounge for 2014-15. The class held a brief prayer service in the chapel, then filed downstairs for their first look at “their” senior lounge. Congratulations to seniors Hannah Chambers, Anne Wermuth, Katherine DiDonato, Sydney Blasi, Danielle Ciampoli and their team for doing a great job converting the room to “2015 pink.”
The lounge features comfy couches, a ping pong table, two TVs with game systems, a refrigerator, Keurig coffee machine, and tables and chairs for snacking, studying and socializing. A handy rack next to the kitchen area holds cosmetics and sundries girls might need, like nail polish and remover, hand cream, tissues, and even a hair dryer.
There are several features that leave room for girls top continue to add their own stamp to the lounge. A photo board features a picture of every class member, with room for the girls to add more throughout the year. A blackboard wall invites creativity, and a quote wall offers inspiration. The team included the words of 2 Corinthians 4:18 in remembrance of Abbey Mallon ’14.
The girls also painted a column of hand prints in pink next to a similar column in lavender from the Class of 2014. They hope to start a tradition in which successive classes add their own columns.
The ribbon cutting included a tour of the room pointing out all the thoughtful touches the decorating team had added, along with a review of the rules and procedures for clean up, supplies and uses.
