Twenty-nine seniors were installed as peer ministers for 2014-15 on Monday, October 13, 2014. In addition, five of the girls will undergo training to become Eucharistic Ministers. In a ceremony in the Marian Center, each girl’s name was called, and she was blessed with oil by Sr. Regina, given a cross by Sr. Maria Claire, and given a Peer Minsitry T-shirt by Mrs. Paolontonio. Two more seniors were absent for the ceremony, and will be installed at a later date.
Peer Ministry is an opportunity open to seniors who have participated in a Kairos retreat and who are interested in developing and nurturing spirituality in themselves and in the student body. This group forms a community of Christian leaders who engage in private and shared prayer and who are trained in communication skills. Members help to plan retreats, including the writing of retreat talks. Participation in at least one undergraduate retreat is required. Meetings are held as needed.
