The soccer team had a service event on Saturday, October 19 with the Challenger Soccer League. The Challenger Soccer League was created for children with special needs so that all children can have the fun and experience of playing soccer. The program’s mission is to create and foster the physical and emotional growth and development of children with special needs through the sport of soccer, and place the kids actively into the game to create meaningful and lasting experiences for all players.
The children were grouped by ability and not age. The participants of the Challenger Soccer League are between the ages of 8 and 21. The Villa soccer players participated with the league players doing warm up activities and playing soccer games. The girls had a lot of fun and hope to do it again.
