Sophomores were officially inducted into the Children of Mary organization during a mass on Friday, October 3. Msgr. Joseph L. Logrip blessed the lapel pins girls receive, and Children of Mary officers Hannah Follman, Emily Legaard and Erin Alessandroni.
Each student attending Villa Maria participates in the spirituality that flows from the school’s oldest and best loved tradition. This tradition is expressed through the Children of Mary, an association characterized by prayer, service, and devotion to the Church through Mary, Mother of the Lord.
The group conducts a number of charitable projects throughout the year, like the annual mission drive, which begins October 6. Other projects include the Thanksgiving food collection, Christmas giving tree project, and volunteer service at the Salvation Army and at Camilla Hall. As other occasions arise, students respond to the calls for special service.
