Villa Maria lacrosse coach and chair of the physical education and health department Jessica Chadwin was inducted into Germantown Academy’s Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2014 on November 6. While at Germantown, Chadwin was a two-time All-Interac Athletic League honoree for soccer, captained the soccer and lacrosse teams her senior year, helped the soccer team to five Inter-Ac championships and the basketball team to four, and received the Lacrosse 2003 Outstanding Defensive Player Award, among many other achievements.
After graduating from Germantown Academy, Chadwin attended Temple University on a lacrosse scholarship, where she played for four years, and was team captain her junior and senior years. The team reached the A10 post-season tournament all four years, and won the tournament in 2004. She has been an assistant lacrosse coach at Temple and Haverford College, and is now head coach at Villa Maria.
In her speech to Germantown Academy students, Chadwin thanked all her coaches, teachers and other mentors, and urged the students to enjoy and take pride in their school. “There is nothing greater than having an opportunity to compete for your school with teammates you love,” she said.
