In honor of National French Week, the World Language Club hosted a fundraising breakfast on Friday morning, November 14. The breakfast featured a crêpe station with all the fixings — Nutella, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream, a breakfast burrito station with scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon bits, and salsa, croissants, and beverages.
This tasty event, the club’s first fund-raising initiative, raised $130 for a “meal packing” event at the end of the year in partnership with the “No Child Hungry” feeding program. Each meal costs 30 cents and contains the daily nutritional ingredients to provide what is necessary for a person to live a healthy life. The meals have been developed by food scientists at the Universities of Minnesota and Iowa and are overseen by the FDA.
