Music Program Gives Christmas Concert

The Orchestra and Concert Choir perform Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring as the finale of Sunday’s annual Christmas Concert.

Villa Maria’s many talented musicians performed a Christmas-themed concert for family, friends and staff on Thursday, December 4. Music Director Ms. Leah Kim conducted the Orchestra and Ensemble, and Dr. Anthony Mosakowski conducted the Handbell Choir, Concert Chorus, and the Madrigal Singers. Selections from the Orchestra included Silent Night, Concerto for Orchestra No. 4 by Handel, and A Bach Christmas. The Ensemble performed Greensleeves and Panis Angelicus, among others.

Both the Madrigal Singers and the Concert Chorus performed songs from the movie Frozen, and the Handbell Choir played Still, Still, Still and Patapan.

The Orchestra and the Concert Chorus finished the night with a joint performance of Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. Alumnae were invited to join the chorus opn the risers at the front of the auditorium.
