Caitlin McAllister ’12 Shares Study Experience in Morocco

Villa alumna Caitlin McAllister ’12 visited Mrs. Mary Anastasi’s U.S. History classes to share her experiences while studying abroad in Morocco. A junior at the University of Richmond majoring in Leadership and American Studies, Caitlin chose Morocco so that she could practice speaking Arabic, which she has studied in college. Using a presentation of photos from her semester, Caitlin described her travels for the girls, highlighting cultural differences, surprising adventures, beautiful landscapes, and new foods she experienced. She lived with Moroccan families for much of her visit, but also traveled to Casablanca, Fes, Marrakesh, Tangier, Chefchaouen and the Sahara desert, among other places.

Caitlin hopes to work for the U.S. State Department after college. She was Mrs. Anastasi’s student for for both AP U.S. History and AP Government classes.
