Dr. Karl Hausker Discusses Pollution Credits in AP Micro Economics

drhauskerDr. Karl Hausker, father of Alana ’18 and a senior fellow at the World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, spoke to Mrs. McNamara’s AP Microeconomics class about the trading of pollution credits, also known as cap and trade. His talk served as a finale to the class’ unit on market failure and the role of government in the economy.

The discussion centered around environmental policy and market tools, and public interest in environmental remediation. Dr. Hausker has worked for 28 years in the fields of climate change, energy, and environment in a career that has spanned legislative and executive branches, research institutions, NGOs, and consulting.
