Swim Team Wins 11th Straight AACA Championship

The Villa Maria Hurricanes won their 11th straight AACA Swimming Team Championship Saturday. Villa scored 474 points, ahead of Mount St. Joseph with 438 and Nazareth with 325 points.

Over the years the Hurricanes have often held the meet records in each of the three relays: the 200 medley relay, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. This year the team of Olivia Giampietro, Maura McManus, Emily Cornell and Julie Dobson reset the meet record for the 200 free relay. Then, in the last event of the meet, the 400 free relay, they beat Nazareth’s time, by over 3 seconds.
