Latin Class Visits Pennsylvania Museum of Art and Archeology

The Honors Latin 4 class concluded a study of Latin epigraphy with a trip to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Art and Archeology. There they studied a marble monument honoring the emperor Domitian. In addition they and Egyptian mummies. They also tried on a Corinthian helmet.

The Honors Latin 4 class concluded their study of epigraphy with a trip to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Art and Archaeology. They have been studying the art and style of stone inscriptions in funerary and honorific uses. The Museum has a significant stone monument from Emperor Domitian. The students also saw Etruscan terracotta statues and Egyptian mummies, and tried on Corinthian helmets.
