Krista Zaccaria Finegan ’90 talks to students about her work at Morgan Stanley

Krista Zaccaria Finegan '90Students in Mrs. McNamara’s AP Microeconomics Class have been thrust into the real world of investing through the generosity of Villa Maria’s alumnae. Alumnae Board President Mary Jane Raymond ’78 has backed a two-fold challenge to the Microeconomics students this year.  First, students have been tasked with identifying a Villa-specific improvement that they want to leave as their legacy to the school. Second, they are going to form investment teams in order to learn about stewardship of a financial investment over the duration of the school year.

The program was kick-started this week with a visit from Krista Zaccaria Finegan ’90, who shared her perspectives as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Investments. Krista gave the girls a broad overview of investment terminology and strategy fundamentals. Using this information, students will establish portfolios and will track progress throughout the year, while simultaneously working to better define and formulate a plan to have their Villa improvement come to life.

Stay tuned for updates throughout the year on our girls’ progress and take-aways.
