The Villa lacrosse team, along with opponents from Villa Joe, showed their support for nonprofit organization Cuddle My Kids before their game on Monday, April 18. The organization, founded by Villa Maria alumnae and sisters Cathy Bosken Gabrielsen ’89, Colleen Bosken Bucci ’89 and Lisa Bosken Antell ’86, supports families and children affected by cancer by providing in-home, no-cost support, compassion, and fun.
Prior to the game, the players from both teams assembled at midfield, each holding a balloon to represent people suffering from different types of cancer. Colleen Bosken Gabrielsen read out the name of a relative or friend affected by cancer that each girl was playing for. The girls then released the balloons as a symbol of hope and uplift.
