Villa Maria’s field hockey team fell in overtime to Donegal in the PIAA AA state semifinal match on Tuesday, November 5. The two teams fought hard throughout the match, with Villa scoring a go ahead goal with seven minutes left in the game. Donegal tied it up, 3-3, with just 37 seconds left to force overtime. The Lady Indians then went down the field quickly and scored to win the match and avenge their loss to Villa in last year’s semifinal match, 4-3.
Villa Maria goals were scored by Lindsay Dickinson (2) and Emily Doyle. Although disappointed with the semifinal loss, the Hurricanes can be proud of posting another strong season and fighting right to the end.
