Seniors Develop Career Skills at Business Etiquette Conference

Seniors focused on career skills as they participated in the first annual “Business Etiquette Conference: The Villa Difference.” Students followed a program designed by Villa alumna Karen McGuckin Spofford, which included three break out sessions and a business lunch. The sessions were Packaging Brand “YOU,” The Art of Effective Communication, and Behavior and Body Language for the Workplace.  Villa alumnae Tara McCawley Teberian, Tessa Cleveland Scheurle, Karen Walters and Krista Zaccaria Finegan, were joined by current Villa parent Lynn Bevevino, and friend of Villa Maria, Sandy Wu, as presenters for the interactive workshops for students in these topics.

The girls all came to the day dressed for success in skirts, suits, or slacks, and the professional dress helped set a tone for the conference. The day culminated with a white tablecloth business luncheon to give the young aspiring professionals an opportunity to practice what they had learned. They will also take their newly honed skills into their Capstone job shadowing.

The conference appeared to be a big success. To quote one senior, “It was the best day of my Villa career!”
