The drama A Piece of My Heart, performed by members of the Theatrical Production and Design class, brought to life the sacrifice and suffering endured by many involved in the Vietnam War, through in performances on January 20, 21 and 24. The play follows the lives of 6 women — 5 nurses and 1 country singer — and their experience during the Vietnam War. This emotional piece made history more real for the student body especially, who were born long after the war’s end.
The performances were the culmination of a semester-long course, taught by Robert Cucinella, in which students produce a theatrical production from the ground up. The girls were responsible for every aspect of the show, including staging, sound and lights.
The video above contains clips from the nearly two-hour-long performance for the student body on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
