Students and staff alike enjoyed a range of musical and dance performances at the annual spring pep rally.
The afternoon began with recognition for the swim team’s 7th consecutive PIAA AA state team title. Coach Cathy Hay recounted their experience at the championship meet, which was delayed by a snowstorm, and the team captains presented the trophy to principal Sr. Regina Ryan.
Seniors from the spring teams were called to the front of the auditorium and applauded, including athletes from the swim, lacrosse, softball, cheer, and track and field teams.
Once the senior presentations were complete, the music and dancing began. Each class sent up a dance team, with juniors winning the competition, followed by colorfully colored sophomores, graduation-gowned seniors, and enthusiastic freshmen.
Students and staff then competed in a lip sync contest. Highlights included freshman performing a selection from Hamilton; the math department, including Sr. Margaret Peter, performing Girls Just Want to Have fun; and, Mr. Zazyczny breaking out some Ice, Ice Baby.
