Students Earn French Awards

Several Villa Maria students and World Language Department Chair and French teacher Dianne Goddard attended the awards ceremony for the annual “Grand Concours” (National French Contest). The 40th annual “Distribution des prix” (awards ceremony) took place at Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday, May 16.

Nine students were recognized for their achievements. Victoria Gauntner (level 3), Julianna Prendergast (level 1), and Caroline Morris (level 1) won silver medals. Olivia DiCicco (level 2) and Nicole Slaats (level 2) earned bronze medals. Alivia Orvieto (level 1) won a an honorable mention and a pin, and Breton Console (level 1), Ana Belen Guerin (level 2), and Ariana Arrojado (level 2) received honorable mentions.
