Members of the Class of 2020 were officially inducted into the Children of Mary organization during a mass on Friday, September 29. Father Keith Hollis, O.S.A., blessed the Children of Mary lapel pins, which were then distributed to the sophomores by the Children of Mary officers.
Each student attending Villa Maria participates in the spirituality that flows from the school’s oldest and best loved tradition. This tradition is expressed through the Children of Mary, an association characterized by prayer, service, and devotion to the Church through Mary, Mother of the Lord.
The group conducts a number of charitable projects throughout the year, like the annual mission drive. Other projects include the Thanksgiving food collection, Christmas giving tree project, and volunteer service at the Salvation Army and at Camilla Hall. As other occasions arise, students respond to the calls for special service.
