Computer Science Students Address Needs with 3-D Printing

Mrs. Sweeney’s computer science class visited Highgate Senior Living to investigate designing 3-D printed devices for senior citizens. The girls discovered there was a need for items like cup holders for walkers and name tags for wheelchairs. One resident asked for a name tag for fer door that would not block the peephole.

When the students returned to class they got busy planning and printing the requested items. They will take them back to the residents and test them out to determine whether further refinements are needed.
