Programming Students Bring 3D Printed Tools to Highgate Seniors

The Intro to Computer Programming class visited Highgate Senior Living to present the walker tags, cup holders, key grips, and room signs they had programmed and made with Villa’s 3D printer. The girls showed their demonstrated their creations, described the process of 3D printing, and answered questions.

After the presentation, the students paired up with residents to spend time chatting and getting to know one another. Programming teacher Carol Sweeney noted that the time spent talking with the residents was the highlight of the trip.

Representatives from the National Breast Cancer Foundation to were at Highgate that day giving residents pink highlights to raise awareness. Several of the students also got the pink streaks.
