Spanish Club Celebrates Day of the Dead

The Spanish Honor Society and Spanish Club hosted a visit from Catrina Calavera, “the Lady of Death,” to celebrate the “Día de Los Muertos,” or Day of the Dead. The students created Catrina Calaveras, a female skeleton character associated with the day. The Day of the Dead is a holiday in Mexico. Citizens celebrate the return of the souls of deceased family members, often having picnics in the cemeteries and throwing parades.
