Alumnae Return to Speak About Accounting, Financial Services

Kristina Barbone Parker ’90, Mike Miles, and Kat McAssey ’12

Kristina Barbone Parker ’90 and Kathleen McAssey ’12 spoke to Mr. Miles’ accounting class about career opportunities in the field of accounting. Kristina is a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick, and Kat, a recent Villanova grad, works for her at the firm. The women discussed the types of work accounts do, and the opportunities availaable to accountants beyond working in a large firm. They also answered students’ questions about types of clients,work-life balance, and opportunities for women in accounting firms.

Krista Zaccaria Finegan ’90

Krista Zaccaria Finegan ’90 came to share her career experience in the financial services industry with the students in Mrs. McNamara’s AP Microeconomics’ Class. As the class ramps up for Design Challenge ’18, they will be looking to engage in stock market game activities that will better inform their understanding of the financial markets. Ms. Finegan, in addition to supporting the AP Economics class over the past 3 years, has served as a mentor in the Capstone program to assist students who want exposure to careers in finance.
