Sophomores attended a F.A.B. (Fun Ascending Boundaries) workshop designed to boost personal and emotional resilience. The program, sponsored by Villa Maria’s Counseling Department, introduced the girls to the D.A.B. method, a mind-body program designed for the challenging teen years.
The event began with a group dance that got the girls energized and communicated a sense of fun. The heart of the message was the three-pronged D.A.B. philosophy: don’t be fooled; adjust your attitude; and, build your bounce back. Students received cards reminding them to focus on the positive, use hopeful statements, relabel upsetting thoughts, and encourage themselves.
