By Ms. Belen Medina, VMA World Languages Department
I had the privilege of being selected to present at this year’s Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, which was held February 8-10 in New York City. The conference is designed for all foreign language education professionals, providing both professional development and the chance to network with fellow educators.
I focused my presentation on elevating student engagement through the integration of technology in grades 9-12. Following the Framework for 21st Century Learning, I provided teachers with a variety of digital tools that optimize the students’ learning experiences while increasing engagement in a foreign language classroom. This was not only an incredible opportunity to share my knowledge with a broader audience, but it also provided me the opportunity to showcase Villa students’ work.
