Crew Team Rows Well in First Regatta

Villa Maria’s rowers enjoyed great results in their first regatta on March 25. The girls novice 2x placed second behind Penn Charter, and the V2x place third behind Germantown Academy and Conestoga.

Coach Joan Koob said, “Both boats did awesome for their first race. They both followed the race plan we set up and rowed very well. They looked much better than the other boats in their race. We were very happy with the outcomes, especially Kelly and Tara in the varsity double. Since Tara is a senior she must race varsity. Being a novice in a varsity race is extremely difficult. But Kelly and Tara did great and followed through on the race plan.”

Koob noted that the team is looking forward to spring break two-a-day practices to get in better shape and work on their technique.
