Members of Villa Maria’s senior class are beginning the school year with a workshop focused on building class spirit and connections. Counselors from the Center for Families conducted the program in two visits to campus, and had the girls participate in activities, discussions and reflections designed to challenge perceptions, connect them to their peers, and promote sisterhood, empathy and morale. Related sessions will be held for faculty and senior parents.
A special counselor from the center was in attendance at both sessions: Graham, Senior Service Dog at Center for Families. Graham, accompanied by his owner, Dr. Caroline Fenkel, Director of Center for Families, is a seven-year-old hypoallergenic Goldendoodle and a certified therapy dog. The center’s website says that Graham’s “unconditional love offers them confidence and encouragement.”
