Congratulations to senior Hannah Miller on scoring her 100th high school career goal for the Hurricanes field hockey team on October 2, 2018 against St. Basil’s Academy. Hannah’s teammates, along with her parents, Susie and Mark Miller, and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Shea celebrated the moment.
In addition to being a key member of Villa Maria’s championship field hockey team for four years, Hannah, who was recently profiled in the Philadelphia Inquirer,.has also been a standout on the national level. She plays on the under-17 U.S. national team, along with senior Adele Iacobucci, and was team captain during the group’s tour of Uruguay last year. “[It was] an amazing experience, and the selection process [for the national team] helped me to improve as a player since the level of play was so competitive,” Miller told the Inquirer. She hopes to be selected for the Under 19 national team in December.
Hannah’s milestone came in the middle of a busy week for the Hurricanes. On Monday, October 1, the team suffered an overtime 0-1 loss to powerhouse Downingtown West. See coverage at http://papreplive.com/2018/10/01/jaszczaks-ot-goal-gives-d-west-1-0-win-over-villa-maria/.
