Sophomore Seminar Focuses on Empathy

The Class of 2021 completed the first half of Sophomore Seminar, with a focus on learning more about each other and themselves. Sophomores interviewed a peer while keeping in mind the idea that, “There isn’t a person you wouldn’t love if you knew their story.” Learning about each other is helping the sophomores develop empathy and stronger bonds with their classmates.

Sophomores also took the Myers Briggs Personality Inventory and had fun with some activities that challenged stereotypes they might have about those with different preferences than their own.

Students will continue with Sophomore Seminar when they return from Christmas break in January, with a focus on personal branding. They will also begin to associate personality and preferences with future goals like college and careers.
