Villa Maria celebrated World Language Week on campus from March 4 to 8. Monday celebrated Polish language and food; Tuesday was devoted to French; Wednesday focused on Latin; Thursday was Spanish day; and, Friday was Italian day. The cafeteria offered menus themed to each day, and morning prayers were offered in the corresponding language for the day.
In addition, the French Club visited the Strawberry Bakery, and the Spanish Club made fresh corn salsa at their meeting.
In the spirit of our school theme “Villa to Villa,” the Spanish 3 and 4 classes sold handmade bracelets for the Pulsera Project, which helps provide scholarships, healthcare, and employment for the artisans who live in poor conditions. Pulsera means bracelet in Spanish. The girls sold 250 bracelets and made $1300, with all proceeds sent to the Pulsera Project
