The student body celebrated Publication Day on Monday, May 20, gathering in the auditorium to look back at their school year and celebrate this year’s editions of the yearbook, newspaper, and literary magazine.
The theme for the yearbook is “This Is Us.” The 2020 editors organized selected seniors representing sports, student council and the arts to wear graduation gowns and “hang up” their uniforms, paintbrushes, and instruments before shaking hands with Sister Regina Ryan. As the students walked across the stage, Maura Sweeney and Malvern Prep junior JD Triolo sang a duet to Carrie Underwood’s “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” Julie Satterthwaite accompanied the duo on the piano and Micaela Shackleford played the guitar.
Festival Magazine named this year’s edition “Through the Decades.” The writing included limericks, haiku, longer poems, and short stories. The artwork included paintings, drawings, and lots of photography by students and staff.
Seniors received their copies in the auditorium and attended a small reception, while the rest of the student body returned to homerooms for their copies.
