The Hurricanes defeated Archbishop Carroll High School 18-10 in the PIAA AA lacrosse state semifinal game on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The team returns to the state title game on Saturday, June 8, playing for a second consecutive championship. They will face a rematch with Springfield Delco, the team they defeated for the PIAA AA District 1 title in a close, hard-fought game.
Sophomore Margie Carden led the team in scoring with 5 goals. Senior Abby Walheim made critical contributions with 3 goals, 4 assists, and 15 draw controls. Adele Iacobucci, Sarah Delaney, Bridget Finley, Hannah Young, and Jacki Murray each scored 2 goals. Goalie Kyla Branco recorded 2 saves.
The championship game will be played at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, at West Chester East High School.
