Halfway through the first week of Virtual Villa, faculty and staff members met via Zoom to share their experiences, trade ideas, and brainstorm new ways to continue to deliver an excellent education, despite the distance.
Science teacher Dr. Jennifer Horan discussed how she used the technology to break her class into groups of 5 to work on a problem. The groups then reunited in the shared online space to present their solutions to the larger group.
Other teachers shared ideas for how to administer tests, and discussed techniques for posting notes and instructions for students.
The teachers discussed adapting their plans and switching platforms as needed. Flexibility was a key word for the meeting. “The more flexible we can be with the technology platforms, the better we can be,” one faculty member said.
