Student Creates Native Plant and Vegetable Garden

On Saturday, October 3rd, senior Micaela Shackleford worked with members of the Valley Forge Audubon Society to establish a native plant and vegetable garden at Villa. The maintenance team at Villa tilled areas in the Italian Gardens, and plants were added on Sunday by Micaela, the VFAS members, as well as Seniors Marnie Clark and Fiona Diskin.

The garden includes native plants to benefit local wildlife like birds, bees, and butterflies, which will in turn help pollinate fall vegetable plants. The vegetables will be harvested and donated to Chester County Food Bank.
