Student Publications Win Awards

Editors-in-chief Raquel Lacusky ’20, Hannah Rosenberger ’20, and Alivia Orvieto ’20

The Villa Voice newspaper received a Gold award for the 2019-2020 academic year. Congratulations to editors-in-chief and alumnae Raquel Lacusky ’20, Hannah Rosenberger ’20, and Alivia Orvieto ’20 on this accomplishment. This is the first time The Villa Voice has earned this recognition.

The 2019-2020 Festival Editors and Staff earned Gold from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The editors were Hannah Rosenberger ’20, Catie Mannato ’20, and Julianna Prendergast ’20. Moderator Mrs. Filipowicz commented, “The students who worked on this publication worked so well together, and the editors actually were remotely adding the finishing touches during the first week of the shutdown back in March. I am so proud of the dedication displayed by these students.”

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a department of Columbia University, is an international student press association founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques and award programs.
