Max Field Hockey ranks the Hurricanes third in the nation this week! The field hockey team is on top of the district with a record of 11-1, with their sole loss coming September 15 to Episcopal Academy.
“The season is going really well, and Villa continues to shine against a very competitive landscape,” says coach Katie Evans. “We’ve had a very tough schedule so far against some very talented teams, including Eastern (a NJ powerhouse), Gwynedd, and Episcopal Academy. Our motto this year is, ‘Any time, anywhere, together,’ and we’ve played that way in every match. We’re looking to continue building on this momentum after several lessons learned and gritty games which will help us as we go into the second half of our season and beyond.”
Coach Evans credits the team seniors with strong leadership. “Our entire senior class has been outstanding on and off the field. They have provided great leadership for our program giving strength, confidence, and direction to our younger players. We look forward to the challenges ahead and meeting them head on, as a team.”
Upcoming opponents include Unionville, Notre Dame, Germantown, and Carroll. District playoffs are set to begin on October 26.
