Tennis Team Celebrates Seniors

The tennis team recognized its seniors on Tuesday, October 5. Prior to their match with Sacred Heart, each senior player and her mother received flowers, and the girls posed for pictures family photos.

“This is my third season with the girls and it has been a pleasure watching them grow as players and young women,” said coach Amy Holzapfel.  “We have a whole new cadre of players, in addition to our core team and there is a lot of talent in the works.  We are having a terrific season; playing tennis and growing as a team.  Once again, the girls have secured a winning season.  Based on the depth of our team, I see a lot of winning seasons ahead!”

The team plays in the PIAA District 1 AA tournament on Monday, October 11, against Lower Moreland (see bracket). Evelyn Kennedy and Kylie Krumenacker represented Villa in the AACA singles tournament and Evelyn finished 4th overall. On Friday, Ella Curran, Amanda Seneca, Julie Walker, and Ava Irvine will play in the AACA doubles tournament at Malvern Prep.
