On Wednesday evening, November 17th, Project LIVE launched its first in-person parent component. The presentation included an overview of current mental health statistics and the proactive ways Villa intends to expand its support of the students’ emotional and mental health needs.
The night continued with a talk by Villa alumna Cathy Bosken Gabrielsen, who spoke about her mental health challenges as a Villa student due to trauma she experienced. Project LIVE student founders, Megan Sweeney, Morgan Dougherty, Belle Peters and Brynn Zebrowski, then offered their perspective as to how parents can best initiate discussion about mental health with their daughters. The night concluded with a question and answer period.
