Spring Arts Festival Concert

Villa Maria musicians entertained family and friends with a beautiful concert that included orchestra, string ensemble, handbell, and vocal performances. The orchestra began the show with a rendition of the National Anthem, followed by movie theme music from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Wonder Woman, and Fiddler on the Roof. The handbell choir continued the movie theme with Circle of Life from The Lion King; an original work from Dr. Anthony Mosakowski; and, Groove in G, which required the audience to snap their fingers in time to the music.

The Madrigals sang O Taste and See, featuring soloist Kim Adam, and When We Were Young by Adele. The string ensemble also performed music from movies, playing Reflection from Mulan, and a medley from Aladdin.

The chorus sang Hotaru Koi, a Japanese children’s song about fireflies, accompanied by green “fireflies” created with special lighting effects. They closed their set and the show with one final movie song, The Trolley Song from Meet Me in St. Louis.
