Villa Maria Marks Easter Week with Mass

Villa Maria marked its Holy Week liturgy with a special symbol: an altar built from cinder blocks and wooden planks carrying messages from students. In recent weeks, Theology students visited the chapel and wrote their burdens or crosses on wooden planks, and their blessings on  cinder blocks. At Mass Peer Ministers carried the cinder-block blessings to the stage to serve as pillars supporting the burdens written on the planks. This altar symbolizes the cross Jesus carried, and serves as a visible sign of Villa’s Lenten journey.
