JCamp - Journalism (Co-Ed)

Twenty outstanding rising 7th-9th graders will have the opportunity to learn basic media skills through interactive workshops on Interview Techniques, Writing, Editing, InDesign, Photography, Broadcasting and Communication Skills.
Guest speakers to include (but not limited to) Bob Baumann, a Lifetouch professional photographer and Ari Bluestein, CEO/Executive Producer, The Sports Fan Base Network.
English Readiness

Learn various leadership skills and methods necessary for you to become the leader in your school, on your team, in your club, or in your activity. Study Skills and Organization 101

Need to brush up on your notetaking skills? What about your planner? Do you need some help with goal setting and time management? If so, this camp is for you. The morning session is for incoming Villa 9th graders and will help with high school preparation. The afternoon session is designed for middle school students.
Topics covered include notebook organization (binders, spiral notebooks, apps, Google Drive), in-class note taking best practices (hand written vs. digital notes, reorganizing notes), notes at home and studying best practices, and planning/goal setting (setting up a planner, determining a study schedule). Camps include 4 days of field hockey skills and tactical drills along with game play on Villa’s turf field. They also include Skills and strategy training to prep players for the next level.
Soccer for Grades 5 - 8

You will learn: ball handling skills, soccer speed and agility, ball striking, passing, and receiving. Experience small sided and full field games.
Rowing

This one-week camp is designed to give prospective rowers an introduction to the sport.
Our camp will focus on the basics of sweep rowing (one oar) and coxswains (athlete that steers the crew).
The sessions are coached by Villa Maria’s rowing coaching staff: Head Coach Liz Miller and Assistant Coach Alair Southerton.
Basketball for Grades 4 - 10

The Villa Maria Basketball Camp is for grades 4 to 10 and introduces the campers to every phase of the game, and includes: individualized instruction, instructional films and theory, valuable guest speakers, and daily contests and games!

Youth: Youth athletes entering grades 3rd to 9th grade, come join us for lacrosse summer camp! Camp is run by coaches both at the Collegiate level and our very own Villa Maria High School players. Learn from the best, while improving your physical and mental performance.
High School: This camp is geared to any high school-aged lacrosse player looking to better their game and gain a competitive advantage. Players will get hands-on instruction from current and former collegiate players and coaches, hosted by Theresa Giunta, Head Coach at VMA and Certified Mental Performance Consultant.
