Algebra Readiness Camp
A solid Algebra 1 foundation is the gateway to success in high school mathematics, and it requires readiness and fluency with essential number skills. This two week mini-course aims to build confidence and reinforce the following skills and fluency: operations with integers, fractions and decimals, exponent and square root rules and facts, order of operations, connections between the verbal representation and numerical representation of mathematical sentences, plotting of points on the coordinate plane, and interpretation of basic graphical information. Practical problem solving, set up and solution of level-appropriate word problems, and basic calculator skills are also addressed. A TI-84 Calculator is required. This camp is ideal for pre-high school students and current high school students who are looking to develop increased confidence in their mathematical fluency.
