Alumnae Legacy Scholarship - Villa Maria Academy High School

This award is given to an applicant who has a close familial relationship with a graduate of Villa Maria Academy High School. The Alumnae Legacy scholarship honors the traditions and IHM Charism of the Villa Maria community.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate's eligibility for the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship, in addition to meeting Villa Maria’s admission standards, includes the following:

A familial relationship with a graduate of Villa Maria Academy High School
- Relationships include mother, grandmother, sister, or aunt.
Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee. All applicants must complete the Clarity application (financial aid application) by the deadline and must re-apply each year.
All applicants new to Villa Maria may apply for the scholarship.
Scholarship applications and recommendations must be submitted by November 7, 2025.

Financial Aid Application Timelines

For the Class of 2030 and transfers applying for the 2026-27 school year, Clarity will be open and available for applications on September 2, 2025.

Application Process

Submit an Essay

Submit an essay (300 to 500 words) responding to the following prompt:

Explain at least one of the pillars (Love, Creative Hope, and Fidelity) of the IHM Charism that resonates with you the most. Include how you would incorporate the pillar(s) in your education at Villa Maria, and why continuing your family legacy at Villa Maria is important to you.

Submit a Recommendation Letter

Applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation in support of their scholarship application. Letters of recommendation should not be submitted from a relative.

The letter should be sent directly to the Admissions Office at Villa Maria via email at admissions@vmahs.org with the subject line: "Alumnae Legacy Scholarship Recommendation: STUDENT NAME"

Scholarship Maintenance

The scholarship recipient must remain in good academic and disciplinary standing during her four years at Villa Maria.
The Clarity application must be completed each year the student attends Villa Maria Academy High School.
Scholarship recipient must complete 10 hours of service on behalf of the Villa Maria Advancement Office during the academic year, each year.
