Tuition Assistance

Villa Maria offers tuition assistance through Marian Grants to families that demonstrate financial need, complete the necessary application, and submit the required forms by the deadline.

The primary responsibility for paying tuition rests with the family. Villa Maria awards limited tuition assistance on the basis of documented need to those families who qualify. The amount of the award is determined by the Tuition Assistance Committee and is based on the total funds available, the total number of applicants for assistance, and the financial need indicated by the School & Student Services by NAIS for Financial Aid in Princeton, N.J.

Villa Maria does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or religion in making admission and tuition assistance decisions. The Admissions Office makes no distinction between applicants who request tuition assistance and those who do not.

Please note that all forms submitted to the Tuition Assistance Committee will be kept strictly confidential.

To be considered for tuition assistance for the 2017-18 school year, the Parents’ Financial Statement and required documents (listed at bottom of page) should be submitted by December 2, 2016, for incoming freshmen and February 3, 2017, for returning students. Decisions regarding financial aid will be released by the end of January for incoming freshmen and late February for returning students. All applications must be complete to be considered for financial aid.

Instructions for completing the Parents’ Financial Statement can be found at http://sss.nais.org. The School & Student Services by NAIS for Financial Aid processes the information and evaluates the financial need of the applicant. A computer printout of the evaluation and the Parents’ Financial Statement are then sent to Villa Maria Academy.

Please note that divorced or separated parents must complete the required Parents’ Financial Statement either jointly or separately. Tuition assistance awards, in this instance, will be made after considering the financial resources of both parents.

Student & School Services by NAIS for Financial Aid must receive the following information in order for the committee to review an application for tuition assistance:

  • Completed Parents’ Financial Statement
  • Copy of U.S. Tax Return (1040) for 2015 with all supporting documents
  • W-2 for 2015
