Coach Peggy Evans
Peggy Evans grew up in Pittsburgh and is a 1985 graduate of Juniata College with a degree in Corporate Information Systems. In her college career, she was a 4-year starter in volleyball and track, and a 2-year starter in basketball, earning 2-time All American status in track, NCAA Regional All Star and MAC Conference All Star for volleyball. She still holds the career record for serving aces.
After graduating, Peggy began a successful coaching career in 1992 with the Valley Forge Volleyball Club, where she was an assistant coach, and the club team won the East Coast Championships. She also served as a head coach with the Sparks Volleyball club, where her 16’s club team won the Capitol Classic in Washington DC.
Now with 16 years of coaching experience, Peggy is going into her 7th season as a coach with Villa Maria, where she began in 2013, serving first as an assistant coach and then taking over the head coaching position in 2017. Since Peggy has been coaching at Villa, they have won the ACCA Championships every year, the District 1 Championship in 2015 and 2018, and made the state tournament in those years as well.
In addition, Peggy had been a head coach for the Sparks VBC, and most recently for the Royal Legends Volleyball Club (since 2016). In order to improve her skills as a coach, Peggy has obtained CAP II level certification through USA Volleyball, which less than 5% of coaches have obtained. Peggy is constantly looking to better herself as a coach and improve the skills of her players by attending coaching conferences, was a guest coach at the US Naval Academy Volleyball Camp, creates workout plans for her players, and holds clinics and open gyms.
When she is not coaching, Peggy also works as a successful Luxury Real Estate agent for Keller Williams Real Estate. She has been married since 1988 and has 2 children, Carly ’17 and Curt.
