Winter Sports

Winter sports registration for 2020-21 is now open

Please register by Monday, November 16 using Family ID.

If you have previously registered for any programs through Family ID, please use the same username and password. You will not have to pay the athletic fee through Family ID. You will be billed through FACTS once rosters are finalized.

PIAA Forms

All sports physicals are due no later than, Monday, November 16 and should be handed in to Mrs. Marci Luty. If you have any questions, please stop in to her office or contact her via email at

Any athlete who HAS participated in a fall sport will need to complete sections 7 and 10 of the sports physical to participate in a winter sport.

Any athlete who DID NOT participate in a fall sport must hand in sections 1-6 and 10 of the new sports physical. If you already handed in a sports physical to Mrs. Luty, you MUST complete section 10.

Section of the physical form was added recently. Please see the link below for the NEW version of the physical form that contains section 10.

Keep in mind that your daughter will not be permitted to tryout without completion of the PIAA form and registration on Family ID.  Please do not send your daughter to tryouts without having them completed, as she will be asked to sit and watch.  This policy is established in the best interest of the health and well-being of your daughter


Coach: Kathy McCartney

Coach McCartney, who is also Villa Maria’s Director of Advancement, has been the basketball coach at Villa Maria for 31 seasons. In that time she and her teams have racked up more than 500 career wins,  10 district championships, and several forays deep into the state tournament.

Freshman Basketball

Freshmen basketball offers ninth graders the opportunity to get significant playing time.  Every girl on the team gets the chance to develop her skills and have some fun on the court.


Coach: Sherry-Lee McAuliffe

Cheerleaders perform at the three school pep rallies, supports all athletic teams at their “raise the roof” games, and cheers and performs at all regular season home basketball games and away championship games.

The Competition Team, a subset of the squad, will participate in three competitions throughout the season. Competition Team members must be members of the cheerleading squad, and able to do a toe touch, pike jump, forward roll, cartwheel, and round-off, and have stunting experience and high performance energy and ability.

Indoor Track

The Indoor Track team competes in a variety of meets throughout the season.


Coach: Cathy Hay (Swimming)

Villa Maria’s swim team has achieved a high level of success, winning the district for the past 16 consecutive years, and the state championship for the past 8 years. Swimmers and divers practice at Malvern Prep.
