Villa Maria offers three types of Fine Arts scholarships each year: Dance, Music, and Visual Arts.
The Dance Scholarship is awarded to an advanced dancer based upon her individual audition. The $600 Dance Scholarship will cover course fees and costumes. Applications for the Class of 2027 are due by Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Students interested in the Dance Scholarship must complete the following:
Please have your current dance instructor send a letter of recommendation to Ms. Rachel Neitzke, Dance Company Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject line: “Dance Scholarship Recommendation: STUDENT NAME”). The letter of recommendation must be received by November 17, 2022.
Applicants will be required to attend an in-person audition on Monday, November 22, from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in the Marian Center Auditorium. The audition will run as an open class with all students dancing together. A student guide will be present to assist you. You will have access to a warm‐up area.
Scholarship applicants are also asked to prepare a one-minute solo to perform at the end of the audition in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, or contemporary featuring the following movements; pirouette both en dehors and en dedans, grande jeté and/or developpé leaps, grand battement with both right and left leg, movement to and from the floor.
The audition is private. Parents are not permitted to watch the audition. Unfortunately, audition times may not be changed. If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, please contact Ms. Neitzke at email@example.com as soon as possible.
Music Scholarships are awarded to advanced musicians based upon individual auditions as well as department needs. Music Scholarships cover one year’s tuition for music instruction. Applications for the Class of 2027 are due by Wednesday November 16, 2022. Students interested in a Music Scholarship must complete the following:

Applicants will be required to attend an in-person audition on Thursday, December 1 or Friday, December 2 in the Marian Center. Audition times will be assigned according to instrument, and Ms. Leah will email you with your audition time. A student guide will be present to assist you, and you will have access to a warm‐up area. The audition is private, and parents are asked to wait in the lobby.
Unfortunately, audition times may not be changed. If you are unable to attend your audition, please call the Music Department at 610‐644‐2551, ext. 1044, as soon as possible.
Please note that all applicants are required to pay a non‐refundable $25 audition fee (as part of the online application).
Visual Arts Scholarships
Visual Arts Scholarships are awarded to talented and promising artists based upon a portfolio submission and artist’s statement. Class of 2027 scholarship applications for the $1,000 Visual Arts Scholarship are due by Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Students interested in the Visual Arts Scholarship must complete the following:
Complete an Artist’s Statement, no longer than one page, typed and double-spaced, as well as a portfolio with six (6) works of art. This work must be original and recent. Please do not copy from the Internet or photographs.
You must include:
Three (3) works of art from direct observation (still life, self portrait, interior space, exterior space, etc.) in any medium
Three (3) works of art completed in your 7th or 8th grade year
Please submit your portfolio and artist’s statement by November 16, 2022, to the Main Office. All materials must include your name and be neatly presented in a portfolio case.
